Tee hee! I just saw them on Flickr but the caption was in French. I thought I'd better check here; I was concerned for a minute that these were your own shoes!! LOL (I've never typed that before!). This looks like it was a lot of fun...and I am relieved to find you don't actualy wear them! Were they really from 1938??

I do NOT know how women walk in heels! It defies logic. My wife - who only occasionally wears heels, because I'm a tad on the runty side, bless her - can walk, run, crouch down, do just about anything in them. Boggles the mind.

That said, fantastic job! Great colours and shadows!

OUCH is right and this is too cool France, c'est magnifique! I think Coco Chanel could have been looking at shoes like these when she said, "Fashion is architecture: it is a matter of proportions."

I'm with you.... the Birkenstocks are my kind of shoe. Heels must have been invented by a man who wanted to torture us women. Wonderful rendition on all the shoes.

Just wanted to say that your site has really boosted my day - I found it on a Google image search purely by chance and I have been spending (too much?) time here ever since.

I write a blog on creativity and culture and I hope that you don't mind me using one of your drawings (Kevin's Hands). If you do please let me know and I'll take it down!

Many thanks for posting and please don't stop!

Bests,

Sarah

Fabulous shoes for drawing though! I'm a flattie too, but I do envy women who can wear these. (Well sometimes I do - I like comfort!)

You had me worried for a while also. I thought maybe you wore these and that would have destroyed my image of you.....the artwork is great though.

I would walk like Frankenstein's monster in shoes like these! Gorgeous drawings, as always.

Casey

I'm sure Ilike your drawings better than the original photograph - these are a lot of fun - and I'm also glad I never need wear them!

I WOULDN'T BE CAUGHT DEAD IN THESE EITHER! COURSE I COULDN'T WALK IN THEM EITHER!! SUPERB JOB, FRANCE!

Laura

I love the juxtaposition of these with your Birkenstocks, laBelle! Very nice composition with all that dynamic negative space.
