A while back, the very talented Suzanne Buchanan drew Hugo Chavez and i loved her way to wonder about his persona in the process. Today, Hugo Chavez was mentioned in class and it made me want to do do a fast sketch of him. Didn't sharpen the lead once -- hence the thick, undefined quality. 2B graphite ("fat") lead on Canson paper.
This is my first attempt at drawing my best friend's baby. Should have thought ahead and not done it in my new Moleskine journal (i am not crazy about the crease across his mouth!) but there will be other attempts. 2B pencil in Moleskine.
I read in the newspaper that Raymond Barre is not doing well. Wanted to test draw the new thin Moleskine i bought. Much to my dismay, the pages are thin, and the soft cover makes it difficult to just sit and draw on one's lap. Some adjustement will be needed.
Tried to rush through a portrait of Bernard Kouchner, member of the brand new French government. The picture i saw of him on the internet was striking. My interpretation of it is grey and blah -- and i hate it :-) 2B pencil on Canson paper.
