From the curb

This is what I see when I step onto the curb from my house and look right (southwest): the post office diagonally across the street, the church lawn next to us, and the ever photogenic poles and power lines.  I will try to practice drawing my town a little more this summer.  Pigma Micron 08 in sketchbook. 

Four years!

Irony

I bought this Swatch "Irony" in the fall of 2000, almost 10 years ago.  Come to think of it, it has to be the object I have spent the most time with this past decade.  I am one of those people who constantly needs to know what time it is, and I have been handicapped since my trusty Swatch died recently.  I have just ordered a new Swatch from their 1999 collection and cannot, truly cannot, wait to get it in the mail.  Pigma Micron 08 in Moleskine.

Pokey, revisited

A while back, upon visiting Suzanne Cabrera's amazing [sketch]book, I found a picture of her Pokey and thought I would like to draw it.  Some day.  It took me a couple of evenings and a once sharpened HB pencil :-)  Here's another drawing of the same Pokey, and another one I had done three years ago.  I felt like pointing out how inspiring Suzanne's blog is, however distant I have been this past year, her drawings and words have been the little bit of fuel I have needed.  I'm so glad I've met you, Suzanne.  And Edgar.  And Pokey.
