Little red riding hood

This started last Tuesday.  One of my students had opened a magazine and out popped a photo of Little Red Riding Hood -- the new movie that was just made.  Or is it being made?  I saw the fabric on the photo and wanted to know if I could render it on paper.  When it came out like a bunch of dough after two days of off-and-on drawing, I asked my husband Tom why my drawings don't come out like Michelangelo's.  Ha.  As usual, he gave me an honest answer: "you need to show more texture in your fabric".

MVC fauna

I had to renew my driver's license today at the local MVC agency and I was almost jubilant when they told me there would be a half-hour wait.  It turned out to be a mere 15 minutes, which didn't give me much time to doodle.  But I got a few creatures in.  Pilot V5 pen with a dash of Photoshop for color.

Ellipses

More ellipses, more reasons to feel blah about a drawing and not finish.  And still post it.  B pencil in sketchbook.

Ongoing

I have been futzing around with this goodbye portrait of my old New Balance for days, and because it has been so long, I have lost any interest in it.  Meanwhile, they have been waiting to be thrown away.  They are now lingering in limbo, not quite out the door but no longer in their place in the shoe closet.
