Waiting for Sandy

While we are waiting for Sandy to make her way through northern New Jersey, we are staying inside (with the propane generator close at hand, should power go out!!), playing with Legos and makeshift car garages.  The windows are rumbling, but schools are closed! Procreate app for the iPad.

I ended our 30 minutes of reading time at school today with a little doodle, because there was an irresistible alignment of bags in the aisle in front of me.  The names are their owners'.

Some of us still play Draw Something

iPad and iPhone users! -- though maybe the app also exists on Android, what do I know -- Draw Something was fun for a while, but for some of us, the fun still continues.  Jurgen and I play a turn about every day, and it's always a good reason to out-fun one another.

Hungry Hippos

They're one of the many things lying around our little coffee table.  Can you find the Hungry Hippos?  

I have finally purchased a smudge guard 2™ hand cover in order to rest my hand on the iPad without interfering with the drawing.  It's going to take some getting used to, but what a relief it is to draw without having to hold my hand up over the screen.

Not quite Keith

Oh I hate drawing celebrities.  Chances are, they will look better in all the shots we can find on the internet than on some lame mimic drawing.  Ugh.  So why I've attempted to draw Keith Moon?  I wanted a subject I love for a quick sketch on the iPad, and an hour later, I am winding up with an approximation -- though I loved using the technical pen stroke in Procreate.

Do I even dare

Do I even dare post this miserable rendition of a 1981 Volkswagen Rabbit (Golf, whichever)? I might as well display what happens when I haven't drawn a car in months. It's a conversation I had with my buddy/colleague Todd about the new 7th generation VW Golf (to sum it up: I like it, he doesn't) today that made me want to draw the original one, the one I learned to drive on.
