Ener once drew my portrait, and i thought it would be fun to return the favor.

My drawing bug came back, but i don't think he will be spending the night.
This is our second draw-off at school with Megan and Todd (why we are choosing to do this during the most hectic time of the school year, i don't know). This time, i had to choose the challenge. I opted for a photo of Barack Obama by Stephen Voss that i had been itching to draw for weeks. It seemed appropriate to do it now.

We're having a "draw-off" at school. Todd, a colleague of mine, showed Megan and me a picture he was contemplating drawing in his Moleskine. I wish i could show you his amazing results. He sent me the original photo, and now Megan and i have to draw it. This is my take on it.
And thanks to Megan, i have been listening to outtakes of All Things Must Pass by George Harrison, non stop. Here's Beware Of Darkness, one of my favorite tracks.

I have drawn this little fellow before (here). I find drawing a subject from different angles more and more appealing. HB and B pencil on sketch paper.

So, Gabi Campanario received my little Moley as part of our Moleskine exchange! It's a photo of Ehoud Olmert in the newspaper that made me muster the courage to start it one night. I added the Jeep Grand Wagoneer right before shipping it to Washington. Now, i have to work on the incredibly intimidating Moley i got from Andrea Joseph!

This is the third time i have drawn Maddie (the first time was in June 07 and the second time in July of the same year), who pops up on Flickr every now and then. She is so photogenic, i have learned so much about drawing dogs and fur just by sketching her gorgeous face and ears. HB and B pencils on sketch Canson paper.
Here's an obnoxiously large view of it just for kicks: OK, supersize Maddie.

Drawing the jubilee medal of Saint Benedict was a rather unusual commission and i learned about it as i drew it -- for instance, that the four letters (CSPB) in the middle stand for Crux Sancti Patris Benedicti, the cross of the Holy Father Benedict. You can find out more information here. This goes out to B.B. with my best wishes for the future.

Science teacher, colleague and friend Richard. I was working on a double portrait of him and his wife tonight for their wedding anniversary, but it didn't go at all in the direction i was hoping -- which furthers my idea that i have very little control over my own drawings. They "happen" more than they are executed. This is what survived. 2B pencil on Canson sketch paper.
