Number four!

New_balance_front_view
It's all well and good, but instead of wearing them and actually mowing the lawn, i have left these buddies near my Moleskine, and i have again succumbed to temptation and drew them.
Pen, Moleskine & color in Photoshop.
I have been busy with my little contributions to our Moleskine Exchange. Today, i finished what i added to Suzanne's already spectacular Moly.

Sides

New_balance_for_mowing_side_view
I didn't mean to make a series out of my lawn-mowing New Balance, but once i did one angle, i wanted to do more. Pen in Moleskine, colored with Photoshop.

Keep'em tied

New_balance_to_mow_the_lawn_with_2
All this drawing shows is 1) i am the kind of person who goes in and out of sneakers without undoing the laces and 2) i am having fun with adding color in Photoshop.

Lawn-mowing green buddies

New_balance_to_mow_the_lawn_with__2
I mow the lawn with these on, and they are gradually turning green. I drew one when i bought them two years ago.

Corner of my world

Here's a piece of the office/studio where i work most of the time.

Étienne in Moleskine

Etienne_with_red_background_in_mole
I was on a portraits-of-people-with-pen-in-Moleskine kick for a while, and like everything else, it came and went. Yesterday, i was browsing the amazing gallery of French photographer Olivier Roller and saw a bunch of potential pen portraits, starting with this one.

Sans roof rack either

Amazon_wagon_profil
I cannot count the times i have got this wrong: i start drawing a wagon and i run out of space, because of poor planning. It seems as though Volvos are always longer than the Moleskine page. This one was no exception. But since i draw with a pen and cannot erase, my solution has been to shorten the Swedish beauty.
Once i colored it, i realized i forgot to add the little "V" logo in the middle of the wheels. I just don't seem to get it right today.

Front Street, Belvidere

House_in_belvidere_nj
No one outside of New Jersey would believe this, but there are some seriously quaint towns in this state -- the very state that spawned Bon Jovi and Sinatra.
Today i whipped out my little Moleskine during lunch and drew what was in front of me: a funny-shaped building (a Western New Jersey Flatiron of sorts) at the corner of two streets. I am counting on this summer to afford me more opportunities to draw in plein air, and LEARN.

Nontoxic

Scented_markers_2 It's the end of the school year, and it's time to color code all the envelopes with scented markers. Pen + colored pencils in my sketchbook.

I've got some real estate here in my purse

Purses_during_finals
Students at my school are not allowed to lug a bag around during the day. But oversized purses and small backpacks do pass muster.
While students were taking their final exams, i was walking around the classroom, getting different angles on the purses lying around.
Pen in my sketchbook, with some photoshopped yellow afterwards.
