The best way to stop brewing over drawing (or, in my case, not drawing) is to actually draw, right? But sometimes, the mere act of reaching for a sketchbook or a blank piece of paper can be daunting -- and it usually results in no drawing at all. Tonight as I was finishing grading some quizzes, I decided to grab one whose back had not been doodled on (as I often urge my students to flip their papers at the end of a quiz and kill a couple of minutes by doodling while everybody finishes), and I used that as my support. Tomorrow when I give my Freshmen students their quizzes back, Géraldine will have a puppy in the back of hers. 2B mechanical pencil on photocopy paper.
haha...lucky Geraldine! She will have a nice surprise even if she didn't do well on her test :)

How beautiful! How long did that take you to sketch?

This is beautiful. I am envious of Geraldine. It is a fabulous idea encouraging your students to doodle.

Thank you, Clare, Bonnie and Miraculous Mosquito. As it turns out, Géraldine did a good job on her quiz. Bonnie, this took me a little over an hour and a half.

Kind of makes me want to be a student again, but only in your class. Love the dog.
